Conventional healthcare views your pregnancy as three trimesters; 9 months of pregnancy split into 3 stages, each stage being 3 months.

But what you do before and after pregnancy has potential to have massive impact on egg quality, fertility, the trajectory of that pregnancy, and your recovery going into subsequent pregnancies

Your health in pregnancy and after, will influence your lifelong health and the health of your baby right through into their adult life.

How well you recover postpartum will be your new baseline that you take forward into your next pregnancy.

The 3 trimester model gives no acknowledgement to the time before and after pregnancy; but it is in fact a golden window of opportunity to do all you can to prepare your body for a healthy pregnancy and recovery

Shifting the mindset to view pregnancy as five trimesters instead, starting 4 months before you actually conceive, gives proper acknowledgement to this opportunity

Risk factors for potential pregnancy complications are often present before conceiving and correcting these risk factors once you are already pregnant is less effective than starting on the right footing

It’s not just about getting pregnant; it’s about reducing your risks and planning for an optimal recovery

Why 4 months? It takes an intensive 4 months for your body to nurture a follicle from an inactive state to a fully grown, mature follicle that is ready for ovulation and a potential pregnancy.

The quality of that mature egg will be influenced by lifestyle choices, genetics and environment exposures.

Though we can not alter genes, we can modify lifestyle and environment exposures

Wellness before pregnancy is based on the following pillars:

  1. Optimising egg and sperm quality

  2. Regulating hormones

  3. Weight management

  4. Effective blood sugar control

  5. Correcting deficiencies

  6. Supportive supplementation

In my consultations I work with you on achieving these goals
